That song by Clay Aiken is the song that, if anyone were ever to listen to one of his songs, that'd be the one to listen to. I actually ended up vidding that song with Lord of the Rings, because it just works so well in these "completely devoted to each other" 'ships. But specifically these two lines gave me Simon/River vibes: "and the voices tell you turn around" being a reference to how River hears everyone's thoughts and feelings and how they effect her, and this line: "when the stars go blind" because one of the first times we actually see her happy and smiling is during...I believe it's "Bushwhacked," when she and Simon sneak out of the ship while the Alliance is looking in at it and the rest of the crew is being interrogated, and she turns around and looks a the stars and gets this big smile, even though Simon is obviously scared. So when the song says "when the stars go blind, I will carry you," it's like when seeing the stars, which had made her so happy in Bushwhacked, are gone, Simon will still be there to help her.

...yes, I am ridiculously in love with that one song. And the rest of his CD.

But er...anyway. Thanks. :)
