Happy Birthday, Mom!

For those not in the know, today is the 40th birthday of my mom. Barbie, Barbara, Babar, Barbo, whatever you want to call her, she's still one thing. The best mom in the world.

She's my biggest idol. I hope that one day I can be as strong and as independent and as amazing as she is.

She is the bravest person I know, simultaneously my greatest supporter and my source of inspiration. She makes me want to be a better person.

Even more than that, she's not just my mom. She's my best friend.

I love you more than you'll ever know, mom, and I just wanted to let you know that on your special day, since I won't be there to relentlessly tease you about the big four-oh tell you this in person.

I hope you like your gift (though I already know you do...sorry, couldn't wait!) and that you have a wonderful day with Johnny & the girls, and that your birthday rocks.
